The City of Edina is supporting small business impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through a direct Technical Assistance Program (TAP) that will better enable local businesses to reach new customers through digital marketing.

    Small Business Technical Assistance Program Application

    1. About

      This program provides up to $10,000 in technical digital assistance to small businesses in Edina that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Technical assistance areas include website, social media, digital marketing and search engine optimization (SEO).

      Limit one grant per business and/or owner.

    2. Is My Business Eligible?

      This program is limited to businesses physically located in Edina with a maximum annual revenue of $1.5 million. Additional restrictions apply.

      Eligible Businesses

      Businesses are eligible to apply for technical services as part of the program if they meet ALL of the following requirements:

      • Physical operating location in City of Edina (a post office box or similar occupancy is not eligible)
      • Maximum annual revenue of approximately $1,500,000 for the Edina location;
      • Ability to demonstrate legitimacy of business (valid Secretary of State active business listing, state certification, operating license, etc);
      • In active operation prior to Jan. 1, 2020 or with valid lease as of Jan. 1, 2020 with planned operations beginning in 2020;
      • All applicants must be an allowed use in the applicable zoning district; or be a legally non-conforming use;
      • Demonstrable negative economic impact due to COVID-19

      Ineligible Businesses

      • Corporate-owned national or regional chains (including locally owned franchises)
      • Municipal-owned businesses
      • Businesses owned by current City of Edina elected officials
      • Not-for-profit entities
      • Businesses with delinquent tax bills or other fees due to the City of Edina
      • Businesses in default conditions prior to Feb. 29, 2021
      • Businesses that derive income from adult entertainment; passive investments; real estate transactions; or lobbying

    During that window, fill out and submit the Small Business Technical Assistance Program Application to apply. (This link will not work outside the application window.)

    Note that an application does not guarantee admittance into the program.
