8/4/21 - Evening / Overnight Work on Beard Avenue

The contractor anticipates working after 9 PM to replace a 25 feet deep sanitary sewer manhole at the intersection of West 55th Street and Beard Avenue. The contractor will be working as quickly as possible to complete the work, but this unique construction could continue after midnight.

Pumping the groundwater down temporarily is necessary to provide a safe trench for workers as well as minimize the excavation limits. The groundwater pumping and the deep excavation is a time-consuming process that can’t be completed in one working day, and thus work needs to continue after 9 PM.

We are sorry for this inconvenience in particular the additional noise after working hours.
