Option #1 Design/Layout Description:
The 5-12 playground is a traditional structure with multiple climbers providing access to the Double Swoosh Slide and Alpine Slide. There are even a couple belts under the decks for kids can rest or just hang out an talk as well as a Chill Spinner where kids can gain an understanding of centrifugal force and cause-and-effect.
The 2-5 playground structure provides age-appropriate climbing, sliding and imaginative play opportunities with the highlight being the trike track that includes road signs, gas station and store front destinations.

Option #2 Design/Layout Description:
Sherwood Park is a beautifully located area that feels like a secret space when you’re in it. The existing playground provided a lot of climbing components that ranged in level of challenge. We wanted to mirror that concept in our design with varied levels of challenge and a maze of ropes connecting two platforms. Whether you start on the ground or make
your way up by decks, this playground provides a small footprint littered with opportunities for decision making, and endless imagination. Gross motor skills, balance and coordination and strengthening muscles are enhanced with each visit. The varied climbers provide opportunities to grow in problem-solving and confidence building. A multi-user, inclusive swing provides a social aspect to a form of play that is solitary the majority of the
time.

Option #3 Design/Layout Description:
At Sherwood Park a two-level Mega Tower with decks reaching 10 feet anchors the playground and provides elevated climbing, lookout, and sliding experiences. Ground-level sensory, musical, seating, fitness, and swing activities broaden the play opportunities.

Option #4 Design/Layout Description:
Playgrounds are places to come together as a community and get outside to move our bodies. Our proposed design provides a wide range of approachable and exhilarating activities and movement types for children of all ages and abilities. We strive to create immersive play environments that prolong interest and support the mental and physical development of children in our community. The anchor of our design is an 18-foot-tall multi-level accessible tower with shade, crawl tube, spiral slides, five climbers, seven activity panels and monkey bars. This feature is supported by swings and two different types of inclusive spinners. A ground-level playhouse with a range of interactive panels and activities round out the play experience for younger children. Our design provides approximately 900 square feet of rubber surfacing to inclusive play events to ensure every feature can be easily accessible by anyone.
