Construction Work Begins Sept. 6

The new playground equipment is coming!

To ensure we are ready to install it as soon as it arrives, we will begin site work Sept. 6.

The existing playground will close that day as we prepare to remove the old equipment and the playground surface. Crews will then need to do some site work in preparation for the new surface and equipment.

With that done, installation of the playground equipment should take only a few days once it arrives in Edina.

Please keep children out of the playground area during the construction and installation. We know it’s enticing, especially as the new equipment starts to go in. We will open the new playground as soon as the equipment is installed and tested for safety. Look for an opening date announcement soon.

Heights, McGuire and Normandale parks nearby all have playgrounds.
