Update 7/26/2023

West 72nd Street will be closed from the intersections of Claremore Drive and Oaklawn Ave to Cornelia Drive.

The lift station project requires work to occur in 72^nd Street to install new sanitary sewer pipes under the road while it is closed. The road closure has started. This work was pushed up in the schedule for two reasons. The first is to try to limit impacts to Edina schools and busing. By starting now, a portion of the work can be completed while school is out of session. This work will carry over into the school year. Staff is working with Edina schools and their busing operations near the school. Second, if this work did not occur now, it would be done next spring. This would create impacts to both residents and school operations for a second time. The project team wants to try to limit impacts by constructing a majority of the work this year.
