'Town Talks' to Kick Off with Discussion on Public Safety

Edina Police Chief Dave Nelson and Fire Chief Tom Schmitz will kick off the first of four “Town Talks” with a discussion about public safety from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St.

The discussion will touch on trends in public safety, staying up-to-date with equipment and how safety remains a top priority in Edina. The Town Talks will start with a formal presentation. An open forum will follow to allow residents and staff the opportunity to discuss the topic of the night and ask questions.

The discussion will be held in the Council Chambers of Edina City Hall. Materials for the Town Talks will be available the week following the presentation on this project page, where additional questions and comments may be sent to staff for a response.

Upcoming Town Talks include: Changing Demographics, May 20 Housing, July 15 Traffic, Sept. 16 Town Talks will be videotaped for broadcast on Edina TV and webstreamed.
