This variance was approved 5-0 at the Planning Commission meeting on January 11, 2023.


The request was for a 9.6-foot 1st floor height variance for a teardown-rebuild single dwelling unit to allow a reorientation of the house from 4920 Sunnyslope Road E. to Hilltop Lane. The goal is to reorient the new home on a through lot to face Hilltop Lane instead of Sunnyslope Road E. There is an increase in elevation from Sunnyslope Road E. to Hilltop Lane requiring a variance from the maximum 1-foot increase for a new 1st floor height. The new home will maintain all the other zoning ordinance requirements.
