Public Hearing: a 4.9-foot side yard setback variance for a second floor addition at 5608 Dale Avenue

This variance was approved 7-0 at the October 13, 2021 Planning Commission meeting.


The applicant is requesting a variance to build a 2nd floor above the existing nonconforming garage at 5608 Dale Ave. The existing home is nonconforming regarding setback from the south, (garage side yard setback). The project scope includes adding a 2nd story master suite above the existing garage, with a full bathroom, walk in closet and deck area. To build above the existing garage requires a 4.9-foot side yard setback variance. The project will not change the current lot coverage and no disturbance on the site.
