    • CenterPoint Energy crews continue to install the new gas main between France Avenue and Xerxes Avenue. Service crews began installing the new gas services between Wooddale Avenue and France Avenue.
    • Please contact CenterPoint Energy with any questions or concerns.
    • The final layer of asphalt was installed on the south parking lot of Pamela Park. Restoration and striping is tentatively scheduled for next week.
    • Watermain and sewer upgrades continue between Wooddale Avenue and France Avenue. This process will involve flushing of the main which may stir up mineral deposits. This can cause the water to appear cloudy but the water is still safe to drink. Simply run your water faucet about 1/4 turn open in a laundry room sink or tub for a few minutes to clear the water up.

Thank you for patience during this project. Have a great weekend.

At the April 7 City Council Meeting, the Council awarded a contract to Park Construction. Park Construction was the low of 5 bidders. The bid amount aligned well with the estimated costs provided in the Preliminary Engineering Study. There was also a discussion about the widths of sidewalks and boulevards on both the north and south side of the street. The Council accepted a minor modification to the design as part of the contract award. The modification changed the south sidewalk from 8-ft wide to 6-ft wide and it increased the boulevard width on the north side from 2-ft to 2.5-ft. The council discussion can be viewed here: Below is a graphic of the bid design and the modified design for construction.
