These variances were approved at the Planning Commission on March 26, 2025.
Meeting House Church is requesting two sign variances for two of their proposed monument signs. The first variance request is a 6 foot height variance to allow a 14-foot tall sign adjacent to HWY 62 (sign #3 in the applicant submittal). The second request is a setback request from the ordinary high water elevation (OHWE) of naturally occurring lakes or ponds (Sec. 36-1268). The applicant is replacing an existing sign at the corner of Olinger and Colonial Way with a new sign that will be a minimum of 20' from the OHWE (sign #1 in the applicant submittal). The OHWE was unable to be surveyed due to the snow/weather so the applicant has noted the proposed sign will be a minimum of 20' from the OHWE but may end up being located even further from the OHWE than that. The proposed signage meets the other sign requirements of the code.
