Weekly Construction Update #9
Work Completed the Week of August 31st
- Utility work continued on both Phase 2 (W. 72nd, from Glouchester Avenue to Lynmar Lane) with watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer replacement
- Roadway paving occurred on a portion of Phase 1 including the intersection of Cornelia Drive
Work Planned for the Week of September 7th
- No work planned for Monday, September 7th in observance of the Labor Day holiday
- Roadway removals will occur on Phase 3 (W. 72nd from Lynmar to France)
- Utility work will wrap up Phase 2 (W. 72nd from Glouchester to Bristol)
- Utility work will begin on Phase 3 (W. 72nd from Lynmar to France)
- Roadway grading work is planned on remainder of Phase 1 (W. 72nd from Cornelia to Glouchester) and on Phase 2 (W. 72nd from Glouchester to Bristol)
- Utility work will continue on Phase 2 (W. 72nd, from Glouchester Avenue to Lynmar Lane)
France Avenue Closure
- The France Avenue closure has been scheduled to start Wednesday, September 16th. This closure is expected to be in-place for a 3-week duration. A detour map can be accessed via this BTE website. Postcards have also been mailed out to the surrounding areas. Local and business access will remain open until the full closure of France Avenue between Gallagher Drive and Hazelton Road.
Residential Access
- As the work continues to progress the project website will be updated regularly regarding access. The project team appreciates the patience and understanding during the moving operations of construction activity
School Safety
- The project team hopes everything with school starting up went well for everyone but still asks that guardians are making sure to assist their student(s) with navigating through the construction area. The contractor and project team will also make any efforts to help assist as necessary to keep everyone safe and getting to where they need to go.
