72nd Street Improvements

The intersection of W. 72nd/Glouchester will be closed again tomorrow (8/28). All other intersections along W. 72nd, including Cornelia Drive will be open/accessible.

The contractor will be continuing with watermain installation heading west on W. 72nd. The intersection of W. 72nd/Bristol will be getting closed tomorrow (8/26). If you live in Bristol Circle, please have your vehicles parked on the north side of W. 72nd if needing access throughout the workday.

Temporary Water Outage - This morning the temporary water piping that feeds the Heatherton Circle cul-de-sac broke. The contractor worked to get it repaired as quickly as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Heatherton Circle Access - There was some miscommunication regarding when the intersection of W. 72nd/Heatherton would be getting closed. The contractor work schedule was modified late yesterday. Apologies for the inconvenience. W. 72nd/Heatherton is closed today for watermain work.

The contractor will be continuing with watermain installation on the east side of W. 72nd/Glouchester heading west. The intersection of W. 72nd/Heatherton will be getting closed tomorrow (8/25). If you live in Heatherton Circle, please have your vehicles parked on the north side of W. 72nd if needing access throughout the workday.

The contractor has decided to start watermain work on the east side of Cornelia heading west. The intersection of W. 72nd/Glouchester is expected to be closed in the next few hours (around 11:00), please plan to utilize the W. 72nd/Cornelia intersection today if you live on either Cornelia or Glouchester south of W. 72nd.

Weekend Access

• All intersections will be open and accessible over the weekend.
  • Travel along W. 72nd Street is still not advised, please access the open intersections from either the north or the south

Monday (8/24) Access

• The intersection of Bristol & W. 72nd Street will be closed Monday (8/24) to finish the watermain work within the intersection, please plan on using alternate routes and parking north of W. 72nd if you live in Bristol Circle
• The other intersections within the project area will remain accessible

Work Completed the Week of August 17th

• Utility work continued on Phase 1 (W. 72nd, from Cornelia Drive to Glouchester Avenue) with watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer replacement
• Roadway grading work began on Phase 1
• Phase 2 (W. 72nd, from Glouchester Avenue to Lynmar Lane) started with roadway removals
• Temporary water piping system was installed at Heatherton & Bristol that will supply the cul-de-sacs with water during Phase 2 utility work
• Multiple water shutdowns occurred affecting multiple properties within the project area as part of the Phase 2 start up utility work

Work Planned for the Week of August 24th

• Utility work will wrap up on Phase 1 (W. 72nd, from Cornelia Drive to Glouchester Avenue)
• Roadway grading work will wrap up on Phase 1
• Concrete curbing may get poured later in the week on Phase 1
• Utility work will continue on Phase 2 (W. 72nd, from Glouchester Avenue to Lynmar Lane)
• Cornelia Drive will be reopened prior to Cornelia Elementary school activities beginning, the roadway surface will be graveled but fully accessible from the south and from the west

Residential Access

• As the work continues to progress the project website will be updated regularly regarding access. The project team appreciates the patience and understanding during the moving operations of construction activity

• Cornelia Drive will have limited access as grading work progresses on Friday August 21st

• The intersection of Bristol & W. 72nd Street will be closed tomorrow (8/21) to complete watermain work within the intersection, please plan on using alternate routes and parking north of W. 72nd if you live in Bristol Circle

• Residents living on Cornelia Drive or Glouchester Avenue south of W. 72nd Street should use Glouchester Avenue on Thursday August 20th
• Cornelia Drive will have limited access as grading work progresses on Thursday August 20th
