The West 72nd Street Improvement Project went out for bids in April, and the project was awarded to Ryan Contracting at the May 5th City Council Meeting. No official start date for construction has been set, but construction is expected to begin in the next month. Final design and construction details are based on preliminary design and feedback from residents received during the public engagement process.
This project will fully reconstruct West 72nd Street between France Avenue and Cornelia Drive, and includes narrowing the roadway and adding an 8 foot sidewalk on the south side of the street. The project will also replace underground utilities including sanitary sewer and watermain, as well as spot storm sewer replacements.
Project staff from the City and Bolton & Menk will be available to answer questions about the project, including the on-site construction representative, Francis Killen, and construction manager, Josh Hrabe (Josh.Hrabe@bolton-menk.com or 612-965-2473).
Future construction updates will be posted on this website as they become available. Francis or Josh may contact residents in the project area, or those who will be affected by construction activities, to share information about construction impacts. Notices may also be posted on the doors of residences who will be affected by construction impacts.
Thank you, in advance, for your patience and understanding during construction.
