72nd Street Improvements

We heard from a couple neighbors about a power outage last night 8/18 at 10:15pm until the morning of 8/19. We understand there was another unexplained power outage in the last week as well. We're working to get to the story from Xcel on this, to see if there is any precautions we can take or if there was any relation to the project.

Separate gas and electric outages occurred in which the cause was a known utility line hit.

Water Outages - Water shutdowns have been scheduled for Wednesday (8/19), Thursday (8/20), & Friday (8/21) that affect multiple properties within the project area. Including some of the same properties on different days. Affected properties will all be notified via door-to-door notices. The shutdowns are all scheduled to go from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

***The multiple shutdowns are necessary for the project's progression into Phase 2 utility work. The project team recognizes the inconvenience these shutdowns will cause and truly appreciates your understanding and patience

Residential Access - Residents living on Cornelia Drive or Glouchester Avenue south of W. 72nd Street should use Cornelia Drive on Wednesday August 19th.

Water Outage - A water shutdown has been scheduled on Wednesday (8/19) that affects multiple properties within the project area. Affected properties were notified via door-to-door notices on Monday (8/17). The shutdown is scheduled to go from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Phase 2 Start Up - Starting Wednesday (8/19), the contractor is planning to begin roadway removals on Phase 2 (W. 72nd, from the east side of Glouchester Avenue to the west side of Lynmar Lane). There may be some short durations in which access will be impacted. Please try to utilize the north/south roadways as much as possible to avoid additional traffic on W. 72nd.

Residents living on Cornelia Drive or Glouchester Avenue south of W. 72nd Street should use Glouchester Avenue on Tuesday August 18th.

Residents living on Cornelia Drive or Glouchester Avenue south of W. 72nd Street should use Glouchester Avenue on Monday August 17th

Work Completed the Week of August 10th

• Utility work continued on Phase 1 (W. 72nd, from Cornelia Drive to Glouchester Avenue) with storm sewer and sanitary sewer replacement

Work Planned for the Week of August 17th

• Utility work will continue on Phase 1 (W. 72nd, from Cornelia Drive to Glouchester Avenue)
• A temporary water piping system will be installed from the north sides of Heatherton Trail and Bristol Blvd to the existing hydrants in Heatherton Circle and Bristol Circle. This temporary water piping system will supply the cul-de-sacs with water once Phase 2 (W. 72nd, from Glouchester past Lynmar Lane) starts
• A water shutdown affecting properties within the project area will occur sometime during the week. This shutdown is necessary to complete the watermain connections at W. 72nd/Glouchester. Affected properties will be notified in advance of the shutdown with further details on timing and duration.

Residential Access

• Residents living south of W. 72nd on Cornelia Drive or Glouchester Avenue will need to use either Cornelia or Glouchester depending on which intersection is closed. One or the other will remain open for access and the project's website will update daily if access changes.

Residents living on Cornelia Drive or Glouchester Avenue south of W. 72nd Street should use Glouchester Avenue on Friday August 14th and throughout the weekend

The work in the intersection of Glouchester/W. 72nd is still ongoing today (8/13), please use the Cornelia/W.72nd intersection for access today. The Glouchester intersection is expected to be reopened by the end of the day today.

Starting tomorrow (8/12), at 8:00 am, the intersection of W. 72nd/Glouchester Ave will be getting closed to complete the sanitary sewer work in the intersection. At this time, W. 72nd/Cornelia Drive will be reopened for access north and south. This closure is only expected to take place during the day tomorrow and Glouchester will be reopened once the work in the intersection is complete.

Work Completed the Week of August 3rd

• Xcel Energy finished up power related relocations
• Water main connections occurred at W. 72nd/Cornelia Drive
  • This work required a few different water shutdowns that affected many properties along Cornelia Drive, the project team apologizes for the duration of the experienced water outages
• Storm sewer work began on Phase 1 (W. 72nd, from Cornelia Drive to Glouchester Avenue)

Work Planned for the Week of August 10th

• Utility work will continue on Phase 1 (W. 72nd, from Cornelia Drive to Glouchester Avenue)
• As the utility work progresses to the east towards Glouchester, there may be some access restrictions to W. 72nd/Glouchester Avenue, if access to Glouchester Avenue is restricted, please use Cornelia Drive as an alternate route.

Residential Access

• Residents living on Cornelia Drive south of W. 72nd should use Glouchester Avenue for access in/out during the workday (7 am to 7 pm)
• Please reference the residential access map for suggested routes through the project area during the week of 8/10 (subject to change once the work requires access restrictions to Glouchester Avenue). This map will be updated as the project progresses.
