The short holiday week became even shorter with the wet weather on Monday, July 1. Wet weather delayed concrete aprons and driveway installation. However, the contractor completed most of the Ewing Avenue driveways, installed water services on Chowen and Abbott Avenue, installed storm sewer on Abbott Avenue and bituminous driveways on York Avenue and Zenith Avenue.

If you are still on temporary water and have not been switched to the new water system please now call Cole with GF Jedlicki to schedule this work. His information can be found on the flyer that was left on your front door.

Removal of concrete curb and potentially the end of your driveway pavement will also likely occur.

The contractor will continue preparing the boulevard areas for topsoil on York and Zenith Avenue.

Sanitary sewer mains throughout the project area continue to be lined by HydroKleen.

Following reclaiming, the contractor will then begin installing the temporary water supply system. This will allow us to replace the existing watermain and services with little disruption to your water supply. The contractor will need access to your basement to finalize this setup. You will be contacted by either a knock on the door or a notice on your front door by GF Jedlicki. They will be the contractor making the final connection to the temp water and later they will reconnect back to the watermain.

Parking restrictions will be in effect. There will be No Parking between the hours of 7 am to 9 pm, or when the contractor has noticeably left for the day.

    York and Zenith Avenues

The contractor will continue boulevard excavation and road excavation in preparation for concrete curb and gutter.

The contractor anticipates pouring concrete curb starting late during the week of June 10 or early during the week of June 17. For those with driveways accessing the roads and not the alleys, please look for a notice on your front door regarding appropriate parking locations during concrete apron work.

    Drew and Ewing Avenues

The contractor has replaced most of the new water services and connected nearly all the houses to the new watermain. Following completion, the contractor will remove the temporary water system. Sump drain installation began and is anticipated to be complete early during the week of June 10.

The contractor will also begin road excavation in preparation for concrete curb and asphalt pavement.

  • Construction Update - Warmer Days Ahead

The summer temperatures have arrived and it appears that they will be staying. With the warmer weather the water supplied by the temporary water system will become warmer. Residents are encouraged to keep some water in their fridge for drinking. The warmer weather also means that the material on the driving surface will dry out much quicker and which creates more dust. Please slow down when driving through the site. The contractor will increase their dust control measures to also help alleviate dust.
