Pedestrian Safety Assessment Update

Test 1 (curb extensions with temporary pavement markings) will begin Friday, August 30 (weather-permitting) and last for approximately 3 weeks. The images below show what these pavement markings will look like at the two intersections:

A survey will be posted on Better Together September 9-20 to collect resident feedback on Test 1. Specifically, questions will be asked about the impact of the pavement markings from the perspective of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists traveling through the intersections.

Staff will also hold a Pop-Up Meeting on Monday, September 16 at 2:00 at the intersection of West 72nd Street and Cornelia Drive to collect feedback and observe the pavement markings in action.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses. The full schedule is available on the West 72nd Street project home page.
