Keyword definitions:

Climate Change - Climate describes the weather conditions that are expected in a region at a particular time of year. Climate change describes a change in the average conditions — such as temperature and rainfall — in a region over a long period of time. NASA scientists have observed Earth’s surface is warming, and many of the warmest years on record have happened in the past 20 years. Some parts of Earth are warming faster than others. But on average, global air temperatures near Earth's surface have gone up about 2 degrees Fahrenheit in the past 100 years. In fact, the past five years have been the warmest five years in centuries. (NASA Climate Kids, 2021)

Climate Action The City of Edina is creating a Climate Action Plan and would like to hear your thoughts on climate change to help guide the Plan’s goals and actions. A Climate Action Plan, or a CAP, is like a roadmap that explains goals and actions the City and community can take to face the reality of climate change today and prepare the community for climate changes now and in the future.  A goal and action in a CAP might look something like this:

Goal:  Reduce greenhouse gas emissions 40% by 2030.

Action: Add bike racks around the city to encourage bike use and reduce vehicle exhaust.  (paleBLUEdot, 2021)
