4630 Drexel Avenue-Request to change roof material and reconstruction of the chimney
The special meeting on June 2nd has been cancelled. This item will be on the agenda of the next regular HPC meeting, Tuesday, June 14th.
4630 Drexel Avenue is located on the north west corner of Drexel Avenue and Country Club Road. The home, built in 1924, is a Mediterranean style. A COA was approved September 8, 2020 and the project is currently under construction. The original COA was approved with a condition stating asphalt roofing is not an allowable roofing material. The applicant submitted a request to amend the COA to change the proposed roofing material to Camelot black roof shingles.
The chimney at 4630 Drexel was removed due to life safety issues and was ordered by the City's Building Official. The applicant is proposing to replace the chimney by constructing the new chimney with framing materials and finish it with stucco and stone to match the original structure.
