Construction Starting Tuesday, August 3

Beginning on Tuesday, August 3, Eden Ave will be closed to through traffic between Grandview Square and the railroad bridge. A detour to Vernon Ave/50th St will be in place. Access for local traffic to individual driveways (as well as Brookside Ave) will be maintained. In an effort to limit traffic through the construction area, please notify tenants, customers, and employees of this closure and urge them to seek alternate routes as well (if available).

Work expected to begin next week includes the placement of traffic control devices and detour signage, the installation of the temporary water main system, and the removal of Phase 1 (from Grandview Square to the railroad) pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and trees.

In addition, a brief shutdown to the water main is expected next week to facilitate the installation of the temporary water main. Businesses that will be impacted by this shutdown will be notified at least 24 hours in advance. Once the temporary water main is in place, work on the new water main will begin.

Phase 1 is expected to be completed later this fall. Work on Phase 2 (from the railroad to TH 100) will begin next spring.
