The City of Edina’s Arts & Culture Commission, in partnership with the Edina Parks & Recreation Department, seeks applications for project proposals that support and facilitate arts and culture activities and events within Edina.

Applications are due April 1, 2025, and projects can be awarded up to $1,000. The applicant must be a Minnesota resident and either an individual, part of an Edina neighborhood group or association (as defined by City policy) or a legally formed non-profit doing business for the benefit of Edina residents.

The following criteria must be met:

  • Project venue must be located in the City of Edina
  • Event or activity must be open and accessible to the public
  • Project must not have happened before the date of submission
  • Project must provide artistic and/or cultural benefit to Edina residents

Proposals may encompass a variety of artistic disciplines and a range of formats, including, but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, culturally based arts, and arts-integrated technology programs.

All proposals should strive to address access and equity in the planning and implementation of the project. All grant recipients must abide by state regulations which bar discrimination. If projects are located on city property or require additional city resources, including space, permits or other resources, such requests may be included on the application. Individuals or organizations may submit only one application per year.

  • Share I am interested in applying for this grant. I am a for profit small business that teaches kids about design using lego parts. I have a multigenerational program where I teach kids about history and culture where they are engaged in Project based learning. I want to know if that would disqualify me as it is an existing program? I would host the workshops in Edina per your guidelines but does my not being a resident also disqualify me? Thanks for your response. on Facebook Share I am interested in applying for this grant. I am a for profit small business that teaches kids about design using lego parts. You are welcome to apply, as neither the business nor being a non-resident are disqualifying.
    Thank you and Good luck!

  • Share Greetings! I’m the orchestra director at Edina High School and we have been presenting a free concert at centennial lakes at the end of May. While the concert is free, my students and I write donation letters and ask the community for funding. We pay for the use of centennial lakes outside amphitheater as well as a sound / lights, and tech for the event. We generally try and raise about $2000-$2500 to put the whole event on. The event is actually completely funded by the Edina Orchestra Boosters so there’s no school funds utilized for this event. I understand that grant funding for the school may not be allowed, but could we apply under the Edina Orchestra Boosters (a non profit 501c3)? Thanks in advance! on Facebook Share Greetings! The Edina High School orchestra free concert at Centennial Lakes qualifies for grant, provided the event is not a fundraiser.
