We are residents on the 6200 block of Chowen Ave. South. When our roads were reconstructed, all of the trees and shrubs along the fence bordering the 62 Crosstown were chopped down. Thankfully, some has grown back. However, the only thing between our neighborhood and the hospital and highway is a 4 foot chain link fence. With added parking, we have concerns over increased noise, more spillover light and increased traffic on France Ave. What hours will parking be allowed in the new ramp? I would like to see an assessment done to determine increase in traffic and congestion in the France Ave. and 62 Crosstown entrance going east. Will pedestrian crosswalks be enlarged along 66th St. for increased pedestrian safety?
Will the helicopter pad at Fairview be moved? Will there be construction at all hours? Who will monitor the hours of construction ? Can lighting in the new parking ramp be adjusted so that light goes into the ramp and does not spill over into our Strachauer neighborhood ? We already have a great deal of light pouring into our neighborhood as a result of the new Emergency Entrance. It may also be time to investigate a sound barrier wall for our neighborhood, replacing the chain link fence.
