Construction Update - 8/18/2023

Phase 1: Grimes Ave and Inglewood Ave

  • Installation of concrete curb and gutter and driveway aprons, as well as concrete driveway replacements are complete.
  • Concrete sidewalk installation is scheduled for 8/22.
  • Roadway grading in preparation for paving began and will continue the week of 8/21.
  • The base layer of asphalt paving is scheduled for 8/23, ahead of school resuming.
  • Irrigation system repairs will begin following the installation of asphalt paving. Please contact Nina if you have a system that needs to be restored.
  • If you had landscaping plantings, rock etc. impacted by construction, we need your help providing an itemized list of replacement landscaping items so the contractor can place the order with their supplier. Please reach out to Nina with details.


Phase 2: Monterey Ave and Lynn Ave

  • Properties on Lynn Ave who were placed on temporary water main service were restored to permanent service.
  • Sump drain and storm sewer installation is complete.
  • Roadway excavation and gravel installation is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of 8/21, following completion of final roadway grading in Phase 1.
  • Concrete curb and gutter, driveway aprons, and sidewalk work is scheduled to begin after Labor Day.


Phase 3: Kipling Ave and W 40th St

  • Dewatering will begin the week of 8/21. Dewatering is the process of lowering the underground water table which is needed to complete the underground utility installations.
    • This process requires the use of a generator which will run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until the work is completed. This work will take approximately 2 weeks to complete. We're sorry for the inconvenience of this noise.
  • Roadway reclaiming is complete.
  • Temporary water main set up began and will continue the week of 8/21.
  • Following temporary water setup, the utility subcontractor, Kusske Construction, will be reaching out to residents to set up temporary water service. They will need access to the home to finalize the transition to the temporary water main.
  • Utility work will follow driveway apron, and landscaping removals.
