Construction Update - 8/4/2023

Phase 1: Grimes Ave and Inglewood Ave

• Roadway excavation and gravel installation began 8/2 and will continue into the week of 8/7.
• Excavation to replace poor soils with stable soils under the roadway and gravel is expected to be significant on the south half of Phase 1. Check your front door daily for temporary loss of driveway access.
• Concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveway apron installation is tentatively scheduled to begin late in the week of 8/7.
• The base layer of asphalt is tentatively scheduled to be placed the week of 8/21.
• If you had landscaping plantings, rock etc. impacted by construction, we need your help providing an itemized list of replacement landscaping items so the contractor can place the order with their supplier. Please reach out to Nina with details.

Phase 2: Monterey Ave and Lynn Ave

• Water service installation began and will continue the week of 8/7.
• Properties on Lynn Ave who were placed on temporary water main service will be restored to permanent service upon completion of water service installation.
• Storm sewer installation is complete.
• Sump drain installation will follow water service installation.
• Roadway excavation and gravel installation is tentatively scheduled to begin on Lynn Ave following completion of the utility work and Phase 1 excavation.
• Check your front door daily for temporary loss of driveway access.

Phase 3: Kipling Ave and W 40^th St – Work tentatively scheduled to begin in early/mid-August

• Roadway reclaiming is expected to take place in early to mid-August. Reclaiming is the process of grinding the existing asphalt into a gravel base and is anticipated to take 1-2 days to complete.
• Utility work will follow reclaiming, driveway apron, and landscaping removals.
