Construction Update - 9/1/2023

NO WORK WILL OCCUR ON LABOR DAY, MONDAY 9/4.

Phase 1: Grimes Ave and Inglewood Ave

• Irrigation system repairs are complete, except for a select few corner lots where additional construction remains. Please contact Nina if you have issues with your system.
• Topsoil installation is complete. Seeding, hydromulch and watering is scheduled to begin the week of 9/4.
• If you had landscaping plantings, rock etc. impacted by construction, we need your help providing an itemized list of replacement landscaping items so the contractor can place the order with their supplier. Please reach out to Nina with details if you have not already done so.
• The final layer of asphalt will be completed once all 3 phases of the project are complete.

Phase 2: Monterey Ave and Lynn Ave

• Sump drain installation near the City’s sanitary sewer lift station between Lynn Ave and Monterey Ave will occur the week of 9/4.
• Roadway excavation and gravel installation is nearly complete.
• Concrete curb and gutter and driveway apron work is scheduled to begin the week of 9/4.
  • Check your front door for loss of driveway access and appropriate parking locations.
• The base layer of asphalt is tentatively scheduled to be paved in mid-September.
• If you had landscaping plantings, rock etc. impacted by construction, we need your help providing an itemized list of replacement landscaping items so the contractor can place the order with their supplier. Please reach out to Nina with details.

Phase 3: Kipling Ave and W 40^th St

• Dewatering is complete. The generator and pump will be removed the week of 9/4.
• Water main improvements will continue the week of 9/4.
• Water service replacements are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of 9/11.
• Storm sewer and sump drain installation will begin following the completion of water main improvements.
• Curb and gutter removal on the south side of W 40^th St will occur prior to storm sewer improvements.
