Construction Update 5/5/2023

As construction begins in your phase, we would like to continue to stress the importance of checking your front door daily for time sensitive notifications.

W. 42nd Street

• The roadway excavation work is complete.
• Curb and gutter is scheduled to begin early during the week of 5/8.
• Driveway aprons and concrete driveway replacements will be installed following the curb and gutter during the week of 5/8.
• Residents will lose access to their driveways for 5 days while the concrete sets up. Check your front door for time sensitive information on this work.

Morningside Road between Oakdale and Lynn Avenues

• Roadway excavation and preparation for concrete curb and gutter is anticipated to begin during the week of 5/8.
• Expect short term roadway and driveway access loss during the day while this work is occurring.

Morningside Road between Crocker and Grimes Avenues, Grimes Avenue between Branson Street and Morningside Road

• Kusske Construction will be transition the watermain to the temporary system during the week of 5/8.
• Beginning the week of 5/8, the contractor will start installing the deep storm sewer, starting on Morningside Rd, then continuing to Grimes Ave. This work is anticipated to last approximately 2-3 weeks.
• Check your front door daily for more information regarding driveway access loss, and parking requirements.
• Roadway excavation and gravel installation is scheduled to occur in June after the utility work is complete.

Grimes Avenue between West 44th and Branson Streets

• Water service work is scheduled to begin mid to late May.

Remainder of the project area

• The irrigation contractor is scheduled to be on site beginning the week of 5/8 to restore irrigation systems.
• Concrete sidewalk gaps are anticipated to be started during the week of 5/8.
• Stay tuned for updates on resuming work on topsoil, turf, retaining walls, etc.
