Construction Update - 6/16/2023

W. 42nd Street

• The remaining concrete items to be completed in concurrence with Morningside Rd and Grimes Ave, scheduled to begin the week of 6/19.
• To avoid the hot summer temperatures, seeding will begin in August. Likewise, new topsoil will be placed in August prior to seeding to minimize weed growth.

Morningside Road, Grimes Avenue between Morningside Rd and W. 44^th Street

• Sump drain and storm sewer work is complete.
• Remaining Morningside Road sidewalk removals are complete.
• Roadway excavation and gravel installation is complete.
• Concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveway work scheduled to begin the week of 6/19.
  • Please continue to check your front door daily for time sensitive notifications about parking restrictions and appropriate parking locations.
• The first layer of asphalt paving tentatively scheduled for early July.

Remainder of the project area

• The irrigation contractor will be back on site to continue restoring systems the week of 6/19. Please contact Nina if your system has not been restored.
• Retaining walls scheduled to rebuilt starting the week of 6/19.
• Miscellaneous concrete work to be completed following work on Morningside Rd, Grimes Ave, and W 42^nd St.
• The City is aware that the boulevards have weeds. The contractor is responsible for resolving the weed issue and for the subsequent re-seeding. Property owners are not responsible to remove the weeds at this point. Stay tuned for further details on the Better Together Edina website for next steps.
