Construction Update 7/22/2022

Phase 1 Paving

  • The first layer of asphalt pavement will be placed throughout the phase on 7/22.
  • The concrete driveway aprons and concrete driveway replacements are complete in the phase.
  • During the week of 7/25, the contractor will be preparing the boulevards for the concrete sidewalk.
  • Irrigation system repairs are now anticipated to begin the week of 7/25.


Phase 2 – Storm Sewer Installation

  • Water service work is complete in the phase. Crews are taking down the temporary above ground watermain and completing the transition to regular water service. Kusske Construction may need to access the basement to finalize this switchover.
  • Storm sewer installation began on 7/18 and is scheduled to be complete on 7/22.
  • Upon completion of the storm sewer, sump drain installation is scheduled to take place early in the week of 7/25. Anyone choosing to make the optional private connection to the sump drain is encouraged to reach out to Evan Acosta to ensure your private connection to the sump drain is feasible.
  • Following the sump drain installation, crews will begin to install the gravel roadway section in advance of concrete curb and gutter. This roadway work is scheduled to begin late in the week of 7/25.


Phase 3 – W 42nd Street, Grimes Ave between 42nd & Morningside Rd

  • The contractor will begin removing the concrete curb and gutter, driveway aprons, and sidewalks on 7/21.
  • The contractor is scheduled to begin water service replacement work on 7/29 on Grimes Ave. Check your front door for time sensitive information on this work, including brief daytime water shutoffs. The water service replacements on Grimes Ave are anticipated to be completed on 8/5.
  • Following the water service replacements on Grimes Ave, crews will begin installing storm sewer at the north end of Grimes Ave.
