Construction Update - 8/11/2023

Morningside Road, Grimes Avenue between Morningside Rd and W. 44^th St

• Irrigation repairs to occur the week of 8/14 in advance of topsoil installation. Please contact Nina if your irrigation needs restoration.
• Topsoil installation is scheduled to occur the week of 8/14 following irrigation system repairs.
• Seeding and hydromulching is scheduled to begin following installation of topsoil. Stay tuned for tips on growing green grass.
• The Final layer of asphalt tentatively scheduled for end of August or early September.

Turf Restoration in areas with weeds

• The contractor applied herbicide to help resolve issues with the weeds in select areas along boulevards and sidewalks on 8/10.
  • Please remain off the treated area for 48 hours and do not water the treated area for 48 hours.
• Next steps will nclude:
  • Assessing the effectiveness of the herbicide.
  • Mowing the weeds
  • Implementation of a turf establishment plan.
  • Seeding will occur before mid-September when the seed has a higher probability of germinating due to cooler temperatures.

Project Wide

• Retaining wall installations at select locations will continue the week of 8/14.
• Replacement of landscaping items impacted by construction are scheduled to continue the week of 8/14.
  • If you had landscaping plantings, rock etc. impacted by construction, we need your help providing an itemized list of replacement landscaping items so the contractor can place the order with their supplier.
