Construction Update - 5/23/2025
No work will occur on Memorial Day, Monday, 5/26. PLEASE consistently check your front door daily for time sensitive notifications.
Project Area

Phase 1
- Vehicles cannot be parked on the street during construction.
- Watermain improvements began on Jackson Ave. Water service installation on Jackson Ave is scheduled to begin during the week of 5/26.
- Watermain installation on Van Buren Ave is scheduled to begin the week of 5/26.
- Check your front door daily for notification of temporary driveway access or water loss.
Alleys west of Madison Avenue
- Washington Avenue alley excavation work has been rescheduled to begin on Tuesday, 5/27 and be completed by the end of the day Wednesday 5/28, weather permitting.
- To avoid alley access issues, please park on the street in front of your homes on Washington Avenue and Adams Avenue beginning at 7 AM on 5/27 until the end of the day Wed, 5/28.
- Alley paving will occur at a future date when the roadways are paved.
Phase 2
- Curb and gutter removal is scheduled to begin the week of 5/26.
CenterPoint Energy
- CenterPoint Energy's work is not part of the City's Presidents Neighborhood Roadway Reconstruction contract.
- For additional information regarding the Maloney Avenue road closure can be found here.

Please set out your garbage and recycling containers before 6 AM. We encouraged haulers to arrive early to avoid conflicts with the contractor and their operations.
