Construction Update - 9/19/2025

Road Closures

• Maloney Avenue will remain closed until Wed. 9/24.
• Washington Avenue will be CLOSED beginning Wed. 9/24 for approximately 3 weeks.
  • Between Maloney Avenue and 3rd Street
  • The detour route will be Maloney Avenue, Blake Road and Excelsior Boulevard
  • The Maloney and 3rd Street intersections will be OPEN during the closure.
• Belmore Lane between Jefferson and Adams Avenues will be closed beginning the week of 9/22. Please use other routes.

All Phases

• PLEASE consistently check your front door daily for time sensitive notifications of temporary driveway access or water loss.
• Vehicles cannot be parked on the street during construction.
• Please set out your garbage and recycling containers before 6 AM. We encouraged haulers to arrive early to avoid conflicts with the contractor and their operations.

Phase 1

• Sod care
  • See written and video sod care tips here and here.
  • To prevent sod damage, please avoid walking on or mowing it initially.
  • The contractor will be watering for the first 60 days.
  • If there is little rainfall and hot temperatures, supplemental daily watering from property owners is appreciated.
• The final layer of asphalt paving is scheduled for late October.

Phase 2

• The first layer of asphalt paving is complete.
• Concrete sidewalk installation on Monroe Ave and Belmore Ln is scheduled for the week of 9/22.
• Excavation in preparation for topsoil installation is scheduled to begin the week of 9/22.
• New retaining wall installation on Monroe Ave will continue into the week of 9/22.

Phase 3

• Water service installation on Adams Ave is complete.
• Sump line installation on Adams Ave will continue into the week of 9/22.
• Watermain lining on Maloney Ave will continue into the week of 9/22.
• Removal and replacement of poor soils in preparation for curb and gutter is scheduled to begin the week of 9/22.
• Installation of a storm sewer infiltration system on Belmore Ln between Jefferson Ave and Adams Ave is scheduled to begin the week of 9/22.

Alleys west of Madison Avenue

• Alley paving will occur at a future date when the Phase 3 roadways are paved.

Tyler Court

• Watermain lining on Tyler Court will continue into the week of 9/22.
• The roadway improvements have been postponed until 2026.
