From Struggling to Healing: A Continuum

This virtual art gallery, "From Struggling to Healing: A Continuum," will explore how our community has experienced the challenges and mending of this past year. Whether it is through visual or performance art - painting, sculpture, photography, speech, music, spoken word, dance - submissions are open to all mediums that express the journey from struggling to healing during the upheaval of 2020 and beyond.

The exhibition is being co-produced by the City of Edina's Arts & Culture Commission and Mosaic, a student group at Edina High School focused on creating an inclusive school culture.

Some submissions may be selected for permanent display as public art pieces for the City.

While you are here you are invited to:

  • Submit artwork into the virtual art gallery, "From Struggling to Healing: A Continuum."
  • View the virtual gallery after submissions are received.
  • Comment on submissions to share experiences and stories.
  • Ask a question.
  • Learn more about public art and race and equity in Edina.

Are artists being compensated for their art in any way? Thank you!

Janette asked about 1 month ago

    Good afternoon,

The virtual exhibition is being co-produced by the City of Edina's Arts & Culture Commission and Mosaic, a student group at Edina High School focused on creating an inclusive school culture. Some submissions may be selected for permanent display as public art pieces for the City but there is no compensation at this time. This is a voluntary submission process for the exhibit.

    Thank you,

    City of Edina staff

I submitted some art work Friday. I was wondering if you contact us if you decline it.? I have two other paintings I'd like you to consider.

Barbara Rapacz asked about 1 month ago

Good morning, Barbara! I don't see your submission from May 14. Can you please resend all paintings you'd like to submit with titles to kgault@edinamn.gov? Thank you!

Can I add more art photos?

Lynn Brownell asked about 1 month ago

Hi, Lynn! Please continue to use the survey to submit entries. You can add more photos through submitting like you did the first time. Please resubmit this entry (that was rejected because it was not submitted to the committee for review) through the survey, "Hi, I'm a Singer/Songwriter/Pianist. COVID19 ended all performing. I dug into painting and found a whole new career."

This is where you can submit: https://www.bettertogetheredina.org/virtualartgallery?tool=survey_tool&tool_id=submitvirtualgallery#tool_tab

    Thanks so much!
