During the Vernon Avenue & Highway 100 Interchange construction project, your support of local businesses makes a big difference.
The Worth the Detour Edina campaign highlights the unique shops, restaurants and experiences these districts offer. This fall, you can participate by collecting stamps in the Worth the Detour Passport program, joining the Restaurant Week social media contest and enjoying free movies at the Edina Theatre on select Saturday mornings, all while continuing to support your favorite local businesses.

Worth the Detour Passport for Free Prizes
Supporting Edina’s businesses is more rewarding than ever. The Worth the Detour Passport program showcases the exceptional shopping, dining and services in Grandview and 50th & France. Participating businesses are listed below, along with any special promotions they are offering. You don’t need to use a promotion to participate. Simply make a purchase or use a service, collect your stamps and return your completed passport for the chance to win gift cards to local businesses in these districts, generously sponsored by Explore Edina. The passport program runs Sept. 15 through Nov. 15.

How It Works
- Pick up a passport at any participating 50th & France or Grandview business.
- To receive a stamp, make a purchase or pay for a service. The business will then stamp your passport and write in their business name.
- Have a favorite business? Keep going back! Each purchase or service visit earns another stamp.
- Collect 5 stamps total from participating Grandview and 50th & France businesses to qualify for the next prize drawing. Once you have 5 stamps, turn in your passport at:
- Edina City Hall – 4801 W. 50th St. (via mail or drop-off)
- Edina Liquor – Grandview – 5013 Vernon Ave S.
- Edina Liquor – 50th & France – 3943 W. 50th St.
- Once you turn in a passport, you can pick up another and keep playing for more entries until Nov. 15.
- Prize drawings will be held every three weeks, with a grand prize drawing at the end. Winners will be contacted directly to claim their gift cards to Grandview and 50th & France businesses. They will be featured by first name and last initial on City of Edina social media.
Restaurant Week Social Media Contest
(Sept. 21-25)
Savor special menus and offers at 50th & France restaurants during Restaurant Week, Sept. 21-25. Plus, if you dine out at any restaurant in Edina’s 50th & France or Grandview districts during that same week, you can enter our social media contest for a chance to win gift cards to local businesses, generously sponsored by Explore Edina.
This year, diners who share their experience on social media using the hashtag #WorthTheDetourEdina and tagging both the City of Edina and the restaurant will be entered into drawings throughout the week.

How It Works
- Dine out at any restaurant in Edina’s 50th & France or Grandview districts Sept. 21-25.
- Snap a photo of your plate, drink or dining crew.
- Post it on Instagram or Facebook.
- Tag the restaurant and the City:
- On Facebook → City of Edina, MN
- On Instagram → @edinamn
- Use the hashtag #WorthTheDetourEdina
- In your caption, share a few words about your meal or experience.
- To qualify:
- Facebook posts must be set to Public.
- Instagram accounts must be Public.
- Each qualifying post = one entry into the prize drawing.
- During the week, winners will be chosen randomly for gift cards to local businesses, sponsored by Explore Edina.
Free Movies at Edina Theatre on Select Saturdays
Start your weekend off with some popcorn and a good time! The City is hosting free, family-friendly movies one Saturday morning a month from September to November. Support Edina’s business districts by coming to the Edina Theatre for a free movie screening, then shop or dine at 50th & France or Grandview after the show!
The movie will be shown concurrently in Theaters 2 and 4. Register to reserve a spot, but seats are not assigned. Show your registration email to gain admittance to the theater, then pick your seats! Concessions will be available for purchase from Edina Theatre. There are 192 tickets available per screening.
