The City has been studying the concept of a new pedestrian and bicycle route that would connect neighborhoods west of France Avenue to Centennial Lakes Park, the Edina Promenade and other destinations east of France. People would walk and bike this route along and under France Avenue, avoiding the 6 lanes of heavy traffic and more than 27,000 vehicles a day.

Watch the France Avenue Flythrough concept video for a drone-style experience of this proposed route, which would cross France between West 72nd Street and Gallagher Drive.

Your feedback is sought on this idea as we decide whether to continue exploring it or stay with the current on-street crosswalks and bike lanes. At this time, funding has not been identified to fully design or construct any particular improvement.

What do you think? How can this proposed pedestrian route benefit the people that live in and visit the area? What do you like about this idea? How can it be improved? Are the existing crosswalks adequate?
