Weekly Construction Update #11

Work Completed the Week of September 14th

  • Utility work continued on Phase 3 (W. 72nd, from Lynmar Lane towards France Avenue)
  • The dual buried sanitary sewer bypassing piping along the north side of W. 72nd from Cornelia to Bristol was removed
  • Sanitary sewer bypassing piping was installed for the final phase of utility work in France Avenue
  • France Avenue closure began the evening of Wednesday, September 16th. This closure is expected to be in-place for 3-weeks. Local and business access will remain open until the full closure of France Avenue between Gallagher Drive and Hazelton Road.
  • Night occurred on France Avenue on both Wednesday (9/16) and Thursday (9/17) for the W. 72nd project as well as the Macy's site development project
Work Planned for the Week of September 21st
  • Roadway grading work is planned on remainder of Phase 1 (W. 72nd from Cornelia to Glouchester) and on Phase 2 (W. 72nd from Glouchester to Bristol)
  • Utility work will begin in France Avenue
  • Concrete curbing may get installed on the reminder of Phase 1 (W. 72nd from Cornelia to Glouchester) and on Phase 2 (W. 72nd from Glouchester to Bristol)
France Avenue Closure
  • The project team is actively working on addressing any issues that arise during the France Ave closure. We certainly understand any frustrations; we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as the project and specifically this closure progresses.
Bristol Circle Access
  • Residents living in Bristol Circle will not be able to access from Bristol Blvd. Please plan on utilizing W. 72nd (between Heatherton & Bristol) to Heatherton Trail for accessing for the foreseeable future.
School Safety
  • The project team asks that guardians are making sure to assist their student(s) with navigating through the construction area. The contractor and project team will also make any efforts to help assist as necessary to keep everyone safe and getting to where they need to go.
