The City of Edina strives to provide accessible, easy-to-understand information about the Free Internet Program being offered to eligible residents. Please review the following information and contact City staff if you have any questions.

    • Internet Service through Comcast: Xfinity. The City of Edina shall not be providing home internet service to you directly. The City provides eligible individuals a unique access code to sign up for monthly home internet service through the Comcast Internet Essentials Program which offers Xfinity highspeed internet (50 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload).
    • No internet bill. For eligible participants that enroll in the Free Internet Program and activate their Internet Essentials account, the City will be able to sponsor 100% of the monthly cost of your internet service (approximately $9.95/month). The program will last until all funding is exhausted or the end of 2025, whichever comes first. Right now, it is anticipated that funding will last at least through the end of 2024. Once the program ends, participants may choose to continue their Internet Essentials Service for the regular monthly cost of approximately $9.95+tax.
    • Eligibility. All residents currently living in affordable housing units are eligible. Participants must be a resident of the City of Edina and household income may not exceed 80% of the area-median-income for Hennepin County. For a family of 4, this is $93,840 in household income for the year; limits will change based on household size. For more information about specific eligibility information, please contact City staff.
