This page is intended to collect public input on Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) applications that are to be heard by the Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC). Comments submitted will provide feedback to the HPC to be considered. Each page includes the information that was submitted by the applicant. The feedback provided for each project will be given to the HPC for their consideration. The page is open for feedback up until the noon on the Monday prior to the Heritage Preservation Commission meeting.

    4510 Sunnyside Road is located on the north side of Sunnyside Road, east of Browndale Avenue. The existing home was built in 1941. The COA application is for changes to the street facing facade which includes the addition/update to a gable dormer on the street elevation and a front entry addition. The project also includes an addition off of the rear of the home and interior updates/remodel.

This information in addition to other factors like legal requirements, infrastructure needs, long-term strategy, cost, etc help inform the decision. The feedback collected is not considered a "vote". 

    Everyone has the right to share their opinions and comments on the related project. While individuals may have varying opinions, respect each person's experience and insight.

    2. let us know your relation to the project (i.e. physical address, neighborhood, visit the area often, etc)
    3. respect the views of other participants even if they don't agree with you

    4630 Drexel Avenue is located on the north west corner of Drexel Avenue and Country Club Road. The home, built in 1924, is a Mediterranean style. The COA request entails an addition on the west side of the existing home and changes to the front facing facade. 

    This project will also require a rear yard setback variance that will be reviewed by the Planning Commission on September 23.

    The subject property, 4504 Arden Avenue is located on the west side of Arden Avenue south of Sunnyside Road. The home is a two-story Tudor Revival style home that was built in 1926. The Certificate of Appropriateness request entails the demolition of an existing detached garage and construction of a new detached garage at 4504 Arden Avenue. The property owners of the subject property are proposing to tear down their 20’x20’, 14’ tall detached garaged and replace it with a new 20’x22’, 14’ 3” tall garage.

    This COA application has been withdrawn. If a new application is submitted, it will be on a future Heritage Preservation Commission agenda. 

    The subject property, 4634 Edgebrook Place is located on the south and west side of Edgebrook place. The COA request is for the demolition of an existing home and construction of a new home. The existing home was built in 1951, outside the period of significance in the Country Club District and is
