This 2025 construction project includes:

  • Complete reconstruction of the roadway asphalt pavement,
  • Full installation or replacement of concrete curb and gutter,
  • Complete reconstruction of two alleys west of Madison Avenue,
  • Complete replacement of the watermain and water services,
  • Improvements to the sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems, and
  • Proposed construction of multi-modal facilities along:
    • Monroe Avenue (5' sidewalk)
    • Belmore Lane (8' shared use path)
    • Washington Avenue (8' shared use path)
  • The project is funded by a combination of special assessments, property taxes, respective utility funds and the Pedestrian and Cyclist Safety (PACS) fund
  • A preliminary assessment of $8,600 per Residential Equivalent Unit is proposed for the roadway improvements.
  • An additional preliminary assessment amount of $1,300 per Residential Equivalent Unit is proposed for the gravel alley improvements for the properties bordering the alley between Washington and Adams Avenues.
  • If unforeseen changes do not occur during construction, an assessment cost savings of up to 20% could occur.

    The survey will assist the City’s design of a roadway system that can safely accommodate all users. Please help us identify and evaluate areas where we can make improvements to your neighborhood. The City is considering installing sidewalks and bike lanes in your neighborhood.  Some are included in Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan and some are not. The Engineering staff is requesting input from residents on the following:
