Willson Road will be closed south of Eden Avenue beginning May 8. Look for a signed detour route utilizing Eden Avenue, Benton Avenue and the West Frontage Road. Access will continue to be provided to local residents and businesses along the East Frontage Road. Sidewalks will also be closed as it will not be safe to enter an active work zone. Please refrain from cutting through the active work zone. We continue to have problems with pedestrians and cyclist entering active work zones at other locations. This is not safe. The work that is anticipated in May includes relocations of private utilities. Installation of watermain, and concrete curb & gutter.

It also improves the traffic signal at 50th Street and Grange Road. The benefits of this concept are;
- Reduced vehicle and pedestrian conflict points from 32 to 10.
- Safe queuing for left hand turns within dedicated medians.
- Reduced Vehicle Speeds - medians provide traffic calming by narrowing lanes.
- Reduced severity and frequency of most crash types.
- Improved pedestrian facility - wide shared use trails on both sides.

Roundabout Concept
Share Roundabout Concept on Facebook Share Roundabout Concept on Twitter Share Roundabout Concept on Linkedin Email Roundabout Concept linkThe improvement concept at the intersection of Eden Ave, Grange Rd, and Wilson Rd is 2 roundabouts. Because of the offset nature of the intersection and the proximity to driveways, 1 roundabout does not work at this location. The benefits of this concept are;
- Reduced Vehicle Speeds
- Reduced vehicle and pedestrian conflict points.
- Reduced severity and frequency of most crash types.
- Improved pedestrian facility - wide shared use trails on both sides, shorter crossing distances, median refuge island, crossing only one direction at a time.
- Typically, less delay than traffic signals or all-way-stop intersections.
